Swimming & WaterPark

Lake Hemet's Swim Zone is closed for the 2024 Summer season, but our Water Zone is OPEN every Saturday and Sunday from June through Labor Day!

We thoroughly enjoy being able to offer a seasonal swim zone to our summer camping guests, but safety is always our top priority here. Access to swimming is never guaranteed with a camping reservation, but we understand very much the letdown that occurs when it becomes unavailable. Our team shares in that disappointment with you.

In happier news, we have put together a very fun Water Zone inside the campground where guests of all ages can come and enjoy inflatable water slides, splash pads, water tables, and squirt guns to cool off together. This water zone is free of charge and will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis with occupancy limits.

Guests are welcome to bring their own inflatable pools and water toys to enjoy as well. We have water spigots located throughout each campground, offering potable water that is safe and clean for both consumption and play.

We are also happy to annoouce that Lake Hemet has opened a brand-new playground! This special feature is located between our market and the front gate, and will be open to guests and the public alike.

The Water Park remains closed for 2024 due to high levels of algea.

Fishing

Lake Hemet is a fantastic location for fishing!  The lake boasts healthy populations of Bass, Crappie, Blue Gill and Catfish and we privately stock both Rainbow and Lightning Trout from November to April each year. Our Marina Store and our front Market both carry a wide variety of bait and tackle, and our knowledgeable staff can direct you to the best spots to fish from.

Facility Details

We are all done privately stocking trout for the season! Our next private trout plant will be in November or December when our water temps cool enough to begin stocking.

November – April: Excellent trout fishing; some bass

March – May: Good bass, catfish, trout at their best

June – August: Bass and catfish are at their best; trout are good

September – October:  Bass is good until about mid-October, trout fishing improves with cooler temperatures but still deep

Need a fishing license? Lake Hemet offers fishing licenses at our retail store. Other than your license, fishing is free at Lake Hemet with no fishing permit fee assessed to each angler.

NIGHT FISHING

Lake Hemet allows night fishing along the shoreline until 10:00pm, only for overnight camping guests. All boats must be off the water by the time the marina closes each day.

WATER QUALITY UPDATE 6/18/24

Our most recent water test results were received on Tuesday, June 18th and they indicated that Lake Hemet remains near warning level for algae.  While there was some improvement, it does mean that we are still not able to open our swim zone up for swimming.  With more warm weeks of summer before us, we feel it is in the best interest of our guests to close swimming for the 2024 summer season.

We thoroughly enjoy being able to offer a seasonal swim zone to our summer camping guests but their safety is always our top priority here. Access to swimming is never guaranteed with a camping reservation but we understand very much the letdown that occurs when it becomes unavailable. Our team shares in that disappointment with you.

In happier news, we have put together a very fun Water Zone inside the campground where guests of all ages can come and enjoy inflatable water slides, splash pads, water tables and squirt guns to cool off together.  This water zone is free of charge and will be offered on a first come first served basis with occupancy limits.

Guests are welcome to bring their own inflatable pools and water toys to enjoy on their own campsites as well.  We have water spigots located throughout each campground offering potable water that is safe and clean for both consumption and play.

In other happy news, Lake Hemet will be opening its brand-new playground at the end of June! This special feature is located between our market and the front gate and will be open to guests and the public alike.
While this summer season may look a little different, we are thankful that no amount of algae can ever diminish the spectacular views or the starry nights that Lake Hemet boasts.
Camping here remains a beautiful and memorable experience in the great outdoors.

We look forward to updating you soon.
